Spooky? Maybe. Spicy? Also maybe. Banging? ABSOLUTELY! We have a slamming 2019 EP in store, some fresh sounds out of ‘The Australian Outback’, and some metal beats from the Florida swamps. Each one of these artists brings their own knack to the table so check em out!

Balancing the Different – What started out as a musical project on a small recorder in spare time, turned out to be one of the ridiculously underrated acts in the alternative genre. Balancing the Different has plenty of years and experience under their belt, and a highly developed sound to match with their latest EP, so definitely take a minute to spin it and read on to find out more!

The Motion Below – Hailing from a land just brimming with metal acts on every corner, The Motion Below knew they had to be unique to stand apart – but that process still isn’t complete. After the latest EP, more new music is on its way and…wait, why not read on to learn more about this versatile act who absolutely slays their sound?

Acaedia – What else can we really tell you aside from what you’ve heard in the 2 Part Podcast Series about these metal guys already? Oh what’s that? You haven’t heard it yet? Well you’re in luck! Keep reading and we will catch you up to speed!

Balancing the Different- Hoping You Believe in Their Music cuz They’re Still in This!

I feel like the best part of music, like knowing that the way you feel sometimes other people are feeling to, so it feels like you’re not secluded…

Taking control of their lives, this band is an unsigned wonder of an act who is as anchored as probably a band can get, but has a TON of life experiences to sing about in the meantime. They will make you at least nod your head, tap your toe, and musically carry you back to certain moments in time when life was a breeze with their music. You absolutely have to take our word for it and give it a listen to understand yourselves!

Review: We take a hard look at ‘I Hope You Believe In‘, the 2019 EP which finds BTD in new territory – away from the direct comparisons and a new direction, but still a frontrunner in the ” solid jam” category.

Interview: Talking to the guys we covered a lot of ground from past life occupations all the way to current influences and inspirations for the new EP, and of course, learning moments along the way as a band! Jump in here!

The Motion Below – Navigating a Saturated Scene in Search of Unique Sound

“…There was a subgenre (in each song) that each person would like the most and that was deliberate and on the new stuff we did that again in order to define our direction and define our sound as “THIS is The Motion Below…”

In such an intensely populated scene, where acts such as Parkway Drive and Polaris reign supreme, we discovered this act within the chaos and our default reaction is beginning to become “OF COURSE that really great sound comes from Australia – do they make bad music?!”. Doesn’t matter if its bad though, as it probably outclasses a lot of other music that is put out. ANYWAYS – we confirm that the desert there is NOT out to eat us, and we also identify the unique tone that the band has settled on to call “Their sound”. All in all, a fantastic time!

Review: A discernible journey towards their own unique development and sound, track by track, ‘Cronus Complex‘ is a creature of its own complexity….

Interview: (Podcast) No, not everything wants to eat you in the desert, the toilets don’t flush backwards there, and we discuss holidays/vacations later on. Oh! We do actually talk SOME music in there too.

Acaedia – A Balance to Discover What Comes Next

Korn was actually the most extreme band that I experienced at the time. It wasn’t until maybe like 8th grade when I really started listening to metal….It was funny because I went to a local grindcore show, or something like that…and I remember I was just like “what the hell was going on? I don’t understand any of this but I definitely want to be a part of it”…

Acaedia is one of those bands who you KNOW has the whole package and but kinda just need that nudge under the mentorship and guidance of the right producer to bring their game to the top and stay there. Great to say that they think they’ve found that connection with Javi Melo of JMelo Recordings after a couple tries in the course of their existence as a band, and we couldn’t agree more after hearing their latest single (cover)!! It SLAMS and brings every ounce of respect deserved as they represent the metal legends, Korn. See for yourself and learn more about the history of the band inside!

Interview: (Podcast) We tackled a 2 part interview series right here on Dear Untitled with both Ray Jimenez (Vocals) and Javier Sardinas (Guitarist) this month. What did you miss out on? Well, find out here!

Part 1: Ray Jimenez

Part 2: Javier Sardinas

Single Showcase: The classic song by Korn, “Falling Away From Me” turns 20 in November this year. See how Acaedia sounds with their latest cover of it!

Untitled Mixtapes

Untitled Mixtapes are what keep the blog going and/or the music that hasn’t made the official DU monthly playlist, if we are being entirely honest. Not all the tunes that we have here reside in the metal/alternative scene but they span genres and potentially decades for you to bring into your regular rotation!

A Note from the Editors:

Nic? Who is Nic? He drank too much Pumpkin Beer before October’s end and is now in #Basic land with Andrew. This is uh, his ghost writing this. Yeah, his ghost…BOO! This is the Sp00ky edition of Dear Untitled this month and Dracula is the editor….or something….I guess….I’m a ghost, I don’t really think, remember?

Yeah, I’m confused too. This IS in fact Nic and I DID drink a TON of pumpkin beer and embrace the cool, seasonal weather head on. Like my bio says, I love cold weather so bring on the snow – shredding the slopes, sipping hot cocoa….its ALL just around the corner!  If you want to see what I’ve been up to in my personal life, just go and take a look at my personal instagram/socials and you’ll see the personal project I’ve taken on at my house with an active work zone in my basement. Its a treat, but its going to be worth it….just like me coming back and composing these Issues for you is!

Speaking of the Issue – did you love it? Hate it? Not care? Are you not reading it? What can we do better? You can message us directly and let us know or sound off in the socials to keep us going strong. We LOVE hearing from the fans, so bring on the comments! ALSO, please please PLEASE tell us who you want to see come on. We love finding even MORE new music to feature. We are all ears!

That’s all I’ll ramble for now – I’ll see you next month after a couple Dublin drafts and packing my face with turkey and stuffing (USA Thanksgiving). Looking ahead until then!

Stay safe and keep rockin,
